The parakoimomenos, the powerful president of the Byzantine senate Basil Lekapenos features in the second issue of the Basil Basileus series. The comic book series is dedicated to the early struggles of Emperor Basil II.

Basil Lekapenos is depicted as a person who is in control of the complicated webs of byzantine authority. Basil II is worried about the circumstances he's got himself into and next to him two persons who play a significant role in the evolution of his personality, Nikephoros Ouranos and Ariadne.
